In his constant search for the real legacy of constructivism, Justin Hibbs is often referring back to the relationship between two-dimensional and three-dimensional spaces. What is illusionary and what is concrete? what is space and what is sole perception? This work is a relief, in itself a construct long favoured by the constructivists, and its medium is a high quality plastic, used here as a medium for the amplification of plans and perspectives. The vinyl brings an added reference to concrete art, as a new industrial material used for a clearer approach to aesthetic and forms.
