John Latham

This catalogue has been published on the occasion of the solo exhibition John Latham: The Spray Gun and the Cosmos, held at Delaye | Saltoun in London in 2008, where a lost collection of fifteen spray-gun paintings by John Latham (1921 – 2006) was publicly presented for the first time in fifty years.  The publication mirrors the exhibition and documents the early career of the artist; this includes a substantial visual apparatus, critical essay by John A. Walker, and extracts from Latham's past interviews. This includes numerous archive photographs and thirteen illustrated paintings, an extract of an interview with Pauline van Mourik Broekman (2002), the reprint of a Studio International article of the Artist in conversation with Charles Harrison (May 1968) and a chronology 1921-1960 by the Author.
