In this square painting on canvas Rosalind Davis is looking at space like a prism, a constructivist perspective defined by gravitas and light. She creates abstract variations from an unique ensemble, articulated around the notion of equilibrium and expansion and a space within a space. The work seems like an homage to a very long tradition, from Malevitch to Schwitters (the Merzbau look-like labyrinth) and beyond.
